how many weapons actually are sidegrades or direct upgrades ?

My estimation would be that around 1/4-1/3 of the weapons are sidegrades and 1/6-1/3 are upgrades (not "direct upgrades"- those are extremely rare).

Most upgrades are in the Melee slots of Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Heavy and Medic.

i just needed it for a short Youtube comment about how few Weapons you can get in TF2 actually are upgrades

really ? most liquid ( crit cola , jarate etc) remove a weapon like a smg or a pistol ( or shotgun for soli)
