You just said that a weapon was unbalanced. While I do think that everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, ya gotta remember these are the forums. A place of absolute chaos.
The Direct Hit pumps out enough damage that even in less-than-skilled hands can massacre classes that Soldier usually has trouble with.
Pyro? Gone.
Heavy? Dead.
Sentries? Obliterated.
The thing I hate the most about it is the fact it's damage is so incredible too. 125%? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. 115% would be perfect.
Side note the direct hit teaches soliders to aim, and attempt to git airshots. The main reason im defending because i do pretty well with it with the airshots, so take this with a tad of salt
What does this have to do with anything, especially since you've used yours as an insult yourself? Are you just trying to sound smart?
Anyway, DH's easy to use. Only thing it really does is mess up with your muscle memory, and its small splash radius makes it usually less reliable on overall gameplay
You gotta remember that Scout has one of the best close range weapons as well, douple jump and high speed, so against notrash-scout even hitting shotgun shots can be hard, while Scout can more easily hit his shots due to Solly's slow movement speed.
In my opinion those are incredibly situational utilities. If you have even a somewhat competent medic those are outclassed in every single way by a medigun. An ubercharge beats the back-up, kritz is better than the banner and the quick-fix is better than the boats.
If you are running the Direct Hit, you absolutely need the shotgun. The reduced splash area leaves you vulnerable, its easy enough to dodge and without a damage dealing secondary you can be outclassed by anyone who can predict where your line of fire is. Without a medic, I do agree those can be very useful.
As for the OP, I agree with Geck. Very high risk, high reward weapon that rewards skill over spam. The weapon is pretty well balanced compared to some of the other weapons in the game. Also, here is the video Geck mentioned: https://youtu.be/xz7Z0VXt-3o
Actually, Zenomite's videos are very informative and well worth the watch. It's a damn shame he stopped making TF2 videos.
