I can't seem to sell my hats on the communtiy market

So hear me out, i have a few hats i have crafted with scrap metal and are in my tf2 inventory.
I can wear them and such, but some of them arent exactly my cup of tea, so i decided to sell them on the market. But the problem is i go into my inventory (yes, the one with the tab labelled tf2) and i search for my hats in my inventory, but they arent there. If any1 knows why please inform me, and also if this will apply via trading with other players.

You can't sell all cosmetic items on the market. Also private bp.

by any chance do you know if ytheres a specified rule for what can and cannot be sold on the market

you cannot sell unique items on the steam market.
unique items are items that have a yellow ring around them and are not a graded item
graded items are any items from the recent cases, which, can, in fact, be sold on the market

For example you can sell promo genuine items, strange items, limited items, vintage items etc.

Stranges, Killstreak weapons, unusuals, and cosmetics you get from the newer crates can be sold on the market. Unless it says "Not marketable" on the item

You can sell all non-unique cosmetics, crate/case cosmetics, promo items
