[FIXED] Custom Killsounds not working.
I followed a few guides on how to make it work, but it simply doesn't.

I've put both the hitsound and killsound .wavs into the custom folder (tf\custom\hitsound\sound\ui), already checked the in-game option to enable killsounds and selected the Default one, but only the hitsound works.

When i try to test it in the console using "play ui/killsound" it only displays "Failed to load sound "ui\killsound.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository". While if i test the hitsound by using "play ui/hitsound" it works perfectly.

Help would be appreciated.

tf/custom/anothername/sound/ui

Delete WAV files
Verify game cache
Reapply them.

Do i have to change the name of the "hitsound" folder too?

I have a hitsound too and i've deleted them both ( the killsound and the hitsound ) so i can verify the game cache.

Your Hitsound/Killsounds need to be WAV format, 44,100 Hz 16-bit stereo. Also, they need their own little folder to store them in plus the sounds and ui subfolders. Example:

tf\custom\anothertheme\sound\ui\hitsound.wav

You can also install hitsounds using VPK packages.

Hitsounds come in multiple themes (space, vortex, squasher), so I'm assuming you're using the defaults as reference?

Yes,i knew that, and both my hitsound and killsounds are on "Default".

Do i need to put them on different folders?

Okay, i think i managed to fix it myself.

All i did was, while TF2 was open, i took out the hitsound.wav while leaving the killsound.wav in the folder, used the command "snd_restart" then tried using "play ui/killsound" and it worked, then I've put the the hitsound.wav back, used "snd_restart" again and now both seem to work.

Thanks anyway to everyone who tried to help.
