War Paint is an item that was added in the Jungle Inferno Update to replace campaign weapon drops and weapon cases, and was first showcased on Day 2 of the update. When one of nearly forty patterns is selected from a War Paint Case, it can be previewed on a weapon and applied to create a new unique weapon with that pattern applied to it. War Paints can come in Strange (Stat Tracking) or Unusual qualities. Paints and cases can be obtained with Blood Money from the Mercenary Park Gift Shop. War Painted items appear nearly identically to Decorated weapons.
Note: War Paint cannot be applied on existing weapons in your inventory. Upon using War Paint, a new item is created instead.

The Paint Can is a tool that allows players to change the coloring of most Cosmetic items. Paint Cans are available in 29 different colors, and can either be purchased from the Mann Co. Store, found via the item drop system, obtained by opening Mann Co. Supply Crates, using a Mann Co. Painting Set, or acquired through the Trading system.
Two types of Paint Cans exist; single-colored and team-colored. Items painted with single-color paints retain the appearance of one color regardless of the player's team, whereas a team-colored paint will switch between RED and BLU variant colors.
Paint can be removed from an item to restore it to its default color by selecting the item in the Backpack and clicking 'Restore'. However, the paint used on the item will not be returned to the player.
The Mann Co. Painting Set can be used to receive up to three single-color paints.
