Powerjack vs Backscratcher
From what I see, these are two most loved Pyro melee weapons in the community. What do you think is better?

Power jack in competitive and on most maps in general.

Back scratcher when there's a lack of medics

Don't run Backscratcher if you expect Medics to heal you, because you just take time away from them that could be spent healing more important teammates.

powerjack imo, the speed boost is really useful for getting to places faster and running away occasionally, backscratcher is nice to when there is less medics though, and is great in melee battles

if there's more than zero dispensers/medics on your team, you shouldn't even be looking at the backscratcher

Backscratcher only works if you basically have no medics or dispensers on your team since pyro is a pretty garbage flanker.

Powerjack actually helps with the flanking aspect and getting to good positioning with the movespeed buff.

EDIT: slop is too fast for me

Backscratcher is good for melee fights and when there's a lack of Medics.

Now people will say that it's bad for when there are Medics, but if you think about it, the decreased healing allows Medics to build uber faster, and since pretty much every Medic runs the crossbow, the Medic can just shoot you with the crossbow to speed it up. (For some reason the crossbow heals don't decrease.)

Plus if you're out there on your own behind enemy lines, or just flanking, that increase health you get from health kits is really handy.

It's also a direct upgrade in medieval mode.

(Note: I'm not saying BS is the best, just showing some "extra stuff".)

Powerjack is good for helping you get back into the fight faster.

Now sure you can try killing people with it to get some HP back, but if you're not careful, you're gonna take more damage than the HP you get. So yeah, only really use it for it's speed boost.

Just my thoughts though.

Just my fairly reasonable opinion, though.
There, I fixed the last part for you.

situations where you need someone to 'help' with building are rare or nonexistent in a pub
there's always someone below 140% health that needs heals

a pyro needs immediate heals and overheal to do his job
any time taken away from getting him topped off is wasted resources that should be going to other classes

powerjack because it always crits

1. Fair point, but I'm just saying the option is there.

2. Also a fair point, but the crossbow heals aren't decreased, (For some reason) so if you don't have time just shoot him with a crossbow and the Pyro can be off to do "Pyro things".
