Team Fortress 2

A TF2 movie?
Yeah......no, it's not in development.

In my previous thread, Thoughts on TF2, I kept suggesting something that Valve needs to do to bring TF2 back to prominence.
Balancing the game is a good start. Better communication with the community also helps. Releasing the Pyro update might just bring most of TF2's former players back. Any other suggestions could also help.
But more than anything gameplay related, I feel that TF2 needs to have a movie made. Not only to expand its' fanbase, but to remind the whole world of just how unique a game it is.

Now, unlike other video game movies, which are colossal disasters, I think Team Fortress 2 has the potential to make a movie that's not just a hit, but also one of the greatest films ever made, period.

In order for this to happen, Valve will need to step out of its' doors and seek help from another company. They've already announced that they're making Half Life and Portal movies in collaboration with Bad Robot Productions (J.J. Abrams's production company). Valve can do the same with TF2. All they have to do is seek out a deal to make it with Pixar.

Now before you comment, hear me out on this one.

Team Fortress 2 seems a lot like if Pixar made an FPS game. It has a retro animation style, dark and surreal humor, unique and relatable characters, and even a moral of friendship and teamwork, all of which are Pixar trademarks. TF2 is really just Toy Story with guns.

So, now that I've made my big reveal on what the game needs to make a comeback, I wanna open up discussion again and see what people think of this idea.

Try me. I've had some ideas for a while now.
Granted, not a finished script, but I have some ideas that, if fleshed out, could be a real killer.
I'd sure like to see it.
I'm a no movie director.
But this can be interesting to read.
Thank you! See that, Logan? This is called having faith in your fellow player. Try it sometime.

A Netflix adaption of TF2 would be great.

That can work. I have no ideas for a sequel.

I will try it when i will say i want.
I don't even know what you're saying here.
And hey, I'm at least trying to do something here. I bet most players don't even do that.
Anyway, if we're all done fighting, I'd like to get back to discussions.

What about rating btw? like for kids, for mature or what?
No way. This is not a kid's movie. That might just be the hard part, though. Convincing Pixar to make a movie that's either a PG-13 or R-rated film.

Yeah Pixar and R-rated film.
Exactly. That's the tricky part. But I believe at the end, all Pixar would care about is telling a good story. That's their motto: Story is King.

Well yeah, they'd probably actually have to say in advertising that this film is not for kids.

They're still not making an R rated movie though.

Yeah like they already done R-rated films, not film for kids..oh wait.
Honestly, give them the right words, and might be willing to make a break from tradition to make something truly groundbreaking and revolutionary.
The Incredibles was a break from tradition in that it was both their first PG-rated film AND their first one directed by an outside director.
