How useful will pogo jumps be in real games?

I have been recently playing jump maps to improve my rocket jumping abilities. I have a friend who has way more time then me in the game, who claims all you really need is basics of strafing and rocket jumping. He also said you don't have to learn pogos because you cant perform some in normal games and you'll be fine with the basics. Is this true or should i learn pogos too?

Pogos are basics, so is just normal jumps and wall jumps. Speedshots are more advanced but are also quite useful.

Don't ever sync in competitive.


If he hits the ground before the rocket launches him it's a speedshot.

The jump on the cap point is a pogo, the jump on the first ramp is a speedshot, same with the 2nd ramp.

I'm fine settling it but you're blatantly wrong about the video not having pogo jumps and how pogo jumps arnt useful. Besides the link didn't prove any point of yours, I was just showing what they are...
