No Audio?

Hello dear readers,
I've just started up TF2, but for some reason I could not hear any audio whatsoever. I tried to restart and mess with the Audio options, but stillnothing works. I tried checking off the "mute game sound when the game is in the background" option and of course, no luck. And yes, the sound works perfectly when I am using it for other applications.

Check your Sound in the notifications bar on your desktop and see if it's muted for TF2.

If you're using Windows 7, check your volume bar in the bottom right corner, right click on it and one of the menus should open a few volume bars for each application. Check if the sound muted/low for TF2 there while TF2 is running.

It won't do anything to your "custom" folder, but back it up just in case.

UPDATE : Fixed by selecting my speakers as default output.
