TF2 FPS Stuttering. Please Help!
Recently when playing Team Fortress 2, I have been receiving various fps shudders (my fps drops from around 70-120 to 7-15) every few seconds. I've reinstalled the game various times and reached the files. I checked the console in game and an error keeps showing up that causes my fps to drop. The error is "Attemped to precache unknown particle system "grenade_smoke_cycle". I also looked at the netgraph and the graph continuously spikes to around 1000-4000, with a majority of it being red. The custom folder is basically empty, with the only folder included being the Workshop folder, and the error started after I deleted my old custom hud and replaced it with a new one. I have since deleted that HUD and the errors continue. The game is almost unplayable in its current state, and would really appreciate some help.

spec?
or reinstall game
I recommend trying out "-dxlevel 80" and FPS configs. This might help.

Changing the dxlevel seems to be working for now

Bump

So changing the Directx level worked... for a singular day and then started acting up again. Any other suggestions?

Verify Game Cache, seems like there's a missing file.

Does it happen when you stare at a teammate?

I've tried that, said that the files were all validated and fine.

It used to get worse over teammates, but I changed the Health Hud setting in advanced settings, and it went away

Your graphics card effects your fps not your ram, your ram is just how fast you run applications (not fps wise)
