The best way to improve as a Demoman?
I really want to improve as a demoman, because I'm average to above average at best. Is MGE/tr_walkway the best way to do this? I only play in pubs, but I find myself getting killed by enemy scouts and soldiers rather easily, and they usually get away with about 10-50 health left. I've practiced on tr_walkway and a tiny bit on MGE servers but I can't help but wonder what the best way to improve is. Plus I always get wrecked on MGE, and it's really discouraging.

I don't want to be another spammy demoman. I want my shots to count, and I want demoman to be my "get sh** done" class. Please avoid comments like "M1,M2,M1,M2". They're really not that helpful, and I don't want to use the SL as a crutch.

MGE doesn't teach you anything. Just play more pub servers and/or comp lobbies.

If you mean hitting your pills more, tr_walkway would do since it's a projectile, touch the options for the bots to strafe and such to improve nailing pills.

Other notes: In close range, the pills (if your viewmodel's right) would move to the left more till it reaches a range where it lines up with the crosshair.

Find your sweetspot, or you could simply ♥♥♥♥ all of that and go mr flickies

I can do flick but what about using the stickybomb launcher properly?
Practising on MGE generally is not a good idea because it's very unnatural scenario as Demoma. Overall Demoman 1vq practising is not that important since Demoman is not desingned for it.

Instead he is very team oriented damage dealer. You should practice your team working and gamesense. Stay with your team and deal damage with stickies. Use your pipes either for bonus damage, if you have no stickies on clips, they're on traps or you want to deal damage to invidiual player.

MGE as demo isn't really the best way to practice beside raw aim, playng some tf2center/faceit/whatever is better imo.
Demo jumpig also helps to have better control of your stickies

How the scout scrim went btw
The scrim cancel by the captain lmao

You setup with the stickybomb launcher.

sticky spam if you know your target's low or have it ready for a compensation against classes like scouts.

It's a second primary and I don't use it that often rather than setting up traps or I'm out of pills and I still need to do dmg against the enemy before I die in a horrid matter and If I do run out of stickies or have 1 left and the enemies far AND I have health, sticky jump + scotsman.

You can try to control the enemy team's movement by placing stickies. This will prevent them from walking a certain path. (Because nobody in their right mind would walk on a trap).

Grenades are hard to aim, but they do 100 damage on direct hit. I sugest you use them in narrow corridors. They can be also used to spam.
So I should always play Demoman?

If you want to main/get better at him, then yes, yiu should spend more time as him.

As for even more advanced, also play his biggest counter: Scout. Then you can see how he can counter Demoman, so you would know how you can try to pretend it when you're playing as Demoman against Scout.

What you need to know (and do):
- Sticky jumping and getting to mid as fast as you can
- Predicting enemies movement
- Using terrain to your advantage
- When to retreat or make sticky traps
- When use pills and when stickies - as demoman have slowest reload time in game,
choosing 1 to do best damage in shortest time is important.
- if you are low on clip better have a teammate around (soldier, demo or heavy preferably) because at this moments you look for enemy scouts like MRE
- Play with players better then you and pay attention to the way they play if they use demo.
- Don't get discouraged when you fail in MGE it's good kind of training despite not having some features of normal play (like the fact that there are normally many enemies and your weapons are designed to do damage to many at once)
