usually stretch to fit, preserve aspect ratio, and no stretching
you're likely on the second option; you'll want stretch to fit

Also since you want to play on stretched i'm assuming that you will probably play sniper or spy. Please don't.
This happens when the games resolution doesn't match the native resolution of your monitor, i.e. you attempt to use a fullscreen resolution size on a widescreen monitor. Change the resolution settings so they match your monitor type.
