resolution doesn't matter as long as it somehow fits under that filesize limit, but in general 512x512px is as big as you can get or would ever want

512kb. Can be animated or 1024 as long as its under 512kb.

Use VTF edit in order to tinker with all the VTF modifiers and everything. TF2 uses a very poor version of VTF compression. There are better versions taht TF2 supports that can hold more quality and use less space.

And with proper VMT modifiers, you can do all sorts of crazy stuff with your spray.

I tried to manually do the 1024x1020 thing, so far no luck, same with VTFEdit, not a single program allow 1020 cause it's not a Power Of 2, and I saw a spray that uses 1024x1020 and it shows on VTFEdit info that it is indeed 1024x1020.

Really wonder how to do that, cause the site itself, makes them looked terrible.

before Major Kuznetsov posted this month, last post was BACK IN APRIL. I wouldn't say "wasn't even a day old" bump. Despite being related to the topic, you should read the date first.
