Why is being a tryhard bad?

I've heard people call me a tryhard after I headshot them over and over again. Sometimes they are friendly and sometimes they aren't. I know what it means, but it makes no sense why it is an insult.

All these definitions and only the first two even fit, as well a the 8th more so(it's probably what most think when they use it as an insult). Someone who cheats isn't a tryhard, they're a cheater. If you're using a joke class you aren't trying very hard. You're purposely gimping yourself whether it's to have fun or make the match more fair. If I'm using a base jumper/stickyjumper/Skull splitter I don't think anyone is gonna ever accuse me of tryharding, unless they don't know what the word means.

I would like to clarify that this list is nothing more than what I've heard other people call as tryhards. I've heard cheaters get called tryhards and joke class players called tryhards as well. The way how this list is made is just some style I do, because I do that stupid crap. Anyway, that's all I have to clarify.

For the most part it's an excuse people use to insult or "call someone out" on anything other people are doing in the match that THEY don't like.

That includes being killed by enemy players via even the most common means in some cases.

There's several varying descriptions for the term 'tryhard' used by several different people.

My version is basically just a person who takes a game far too serious, especially outside of comp. He'll do anything, stomp on anyone, and brute force his way through all means to win. Even if it means keeping a cheater on his team, because it means he'll win.

I consider myself a tryhard, but I don't ♥♥♥♥ with any cheaters in my matches. I kick the scum and if he's in the enemy team, I kindly ask them to kick him. If they don't then they're just as bad if not worse than the cheater.

It's a broad term, but I really don't like using it to describe myself. It holds too much negative stigma and really there's nothing abdnormal about trying your best to win.

Tryhard I'd say also included the people who win or do their best to win and act like pompus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to everyone after they do so. "Lololol you scrubs just got rekt!"
