Best combat engie loadout?

I was wondering what the best combat engineer loadout was. I use the gunslinger, pistol, and widowmaker. Is this "the best" choice or are there better choices out there?

Gun slinger , pistol , widow maker/frontier justice if ou are good at aiming , or just go stock shotgun

A little dependant on situation:

Shotgun / Frontier Justice / Widowmaker
Pistol
Gunslinger

Shotgun for reliability, but if you can use them effectively or the team is feeding you kills for your frontier justice I'd go with other two options. Pistol is a solid back up with Frontier Justice or Widowmaker's downsides of requiring metal ( use when out of metal ) and frontier's justice 3 shots before reloading so you're not forced into wreckless melee combat to defend yourself.

I don't use this too much. But there are some perks to being able to use these secondaries with the Gunslinger. I'd stick to stock shotgun though since it has six shots before needing to reload when you need to actually defend yourself from enemies. Wrangler will allow you to quickly build a turret that you can gun down targets from a distance. Short Circuit, probably best to work with your team by eliminating projectiles for them and making your and your teams lives more easier to manage.

It might not be the most efficient but Jag + Wrangler + Frontier Justice is my favorite combo.
