Okay yeah, I was debating whether or not calling it "inhuman" was a good idea or not. Still really high-pitched, though. It might be something that's regular for Northeast Asians, but you have to keep in mind you're bringing it over to a different place with different standards.

It's decent, some ♥♥♥♥ ups though, like at one point there's someone singing in english but the people singing along are left with their japanese voices and lyrics, kinda ruins a scene that's supposed to be emotional and powerful if you pay too much attention to it.

As of the current English VA he sounds more like a Joke Character..

This all sounds like an attempt to excuse someone for sucking at their job. I have no idea what you do for work, but let's say you are a teller at a bank. When your boss comes up to you and gets on to you for shorting a customer $1 do you appologize to him or her for your oversight or do you make an excuse as to why you failed to properly do your job? "Oh, boss I would be sorry, but our competitor bank does just as bad if not worse, so really, it's not that bad and I have no reason to feel inadequate for what I have done."

No, you wouldn't do that. You wouldn't do that because it's stupid - so why do it here?

Yet you objectively claimed most Western voice acting is bad? That's what I was countering, not your opinion. Japanese voices do suffer from a lot of the same problems in a lot of cases. In fact, they suffer from some really really bad reads in this particular game to the point there's Japanese players who say the dub's marginally better.

This whole argument is definitely subjective though. As others in this thread demonstrated, some people can't stand Japanese voice acting at all. Others prefer it, even if it does sometimes have some warts of its own.

But... that is my opinion? That it is bad, it's absolutely my opinion of which is very much made up of personal feelings and prejudices - not facts [nothing about this is "objectivly claimed"]. It's quite difficult to be objective to something purely subjective and I'm just not unreasonable enough to try and do that.

And again, but I'll leave it alone after this, just because something sucks in Japan, doesn't mean it's OK for it to suck in the West too. It's up to the individuals that contract that work out to do a good job - not a "better than X version so good enough!" no, not that crap, but a good job.

It's pretty enjoyable imo. I haven't felt the desire to listen to JP dub. Usually when I feel like "man I wanna listen to the original dub" that's the sign that the english dub isn't good, usually. But I haven't felt that way, so that must mean the English dub is good enough. It's well done in my opinion.

It's always good to just go with what you feel rather than "wow it's in english how bad better switch"

Honestly I just don't understand how people can be fixated on JPN voices. I mean both can be bad and terrible, as well as amazing and captivating. The problem I have is that people will walk up to me and tell me VA like GER, Log Horizon and Blazblue CS, and tell me that these products have straight garbage VA and that the ENG is absolutely terrible compared to the JPN voices when they can't understand it.

You can hear emotion in voices but like it was said earlier, different standards. I play alot of JPN games and I like both ENG and JPN voices depending on the game. Opinions are good but being one-sided is just dumb. There were literately tons of people crying about how they won't buy this game on the release page of GER/GE2RB PS4 site, saying they refuse to buy it because the game has ENG VA.

Again there is preference... then there is that... ^

I like it and I like the voice acting. I find it enjoyable. I don't mean the writing is necessarily bad, but it's that anime writing where no one would ever say these things out loud.

At the end of hard missions my character says
"I hope my teddy bear is ready for a serious snuggling when I get home!"

I don't know anyone who could even say that without laughing...

Looking back on these lines after playing GE2 and GE3 I liked them. They were funny. The humor didn't come back as hard in future games.
