Why are people so sexual on VRChat?
I can't have a normal conversation with anyone, guy or girl, without them mentioning things related to sex.

Is it teenagers and their hormones or is this the new generation?

I partly agree. I just think that humans have always been this way, but online setting gives one some distance and a sense of anonymity, thus making it less frightening than it is in person. It's rather scary, actually, to approach a living person face to face about something, least of all asking for help, money, or sex. Being online makes it easier and with less consequences (no one is going to slap your face and there are no onlookers to witness your humiliation), so people do it more readily.

On top of that It also allows people to mindlessly bash the Star Wars movies, Darling in the FranXX anime without a care that you also see people trying to join whatever is the mainstream fad. They see people having fun with Knuckles meme so they do that, or with being horny in VRchat, among other things.

"Monkey see, Monkey do"

Then you see people trying to do the same for being lewd, and all that stuff. As much as I've gotten pushbacks people simply proved my point how they follow others in a tribal mentality that they want to be a part of the "big thing" (fads) to feel included.

Also, look at the threads here on VRchat steam forums with people saying how lonely they are and such..... (Just go up to people to say "Hi" to then ask if you want to hang out and do something). People seek validation that it seems easy to do such via being lewd, being a part of the Knuckles memes, or somehow wiggling your way into the Nagzz21 fandom, and etc. I'm sure I"m guilty of something somewhere in the anime realm.... I'm not an exception to the tribal mentality, neither is the person saying they aren't either.

I guess being lewd simply allows us to "connect" with one another in weird ways.

Okey.. Really??? It's a culture around as. (Sorry, for my english, i'm russian, sorry if it's hard to understand ) everywhere we can see relationship like buyer/seller. Demand creates supply. Anime have a lot of fanservice in a lot of anime titles. It's first, and next that what moderately sec is have some kind of esthetic feelings, of course that will be popular. This is a stupid to think about it more, if u don't like this and your company supporting yours view, create your own room without this kind of avatars.

Have some modesty please.

Maybe you should stop larping as an anime girl in public. It's almost like the public shuns people that act like weirdos... in public.

Because a lot of humans, generally, can not be extroverted when it comes to less interesting conversation. I would say a good amount of people, if not a majority of people, are quite introverted. These individuals make up for it by talents, being funny, or being obnoxious; all behaviors and actions that stagnate charasmatic progress and reduce social dynamic. Some people, such as myself, come on here to talk about controversial topics, that's my way of speaking and starting conversation. Though I'll admit that my small talk or short-term conversation lacks (I also believe short talk is quite boring and usually becomes self-centered). Those who lack qualities of charisma or social dynamic tend to go for easier or titillating conversation. Most evidently because it's harder to do in real life, and you're masked by a computer screen and a pseudo-name. I've had issues with this too, one example I remember is a female who was crowded by 5-6 men (obviously men who wanted to compete to get a friendship or closer to her); she openly admitted she was gay and 3-4 of those men left the conversation.

This example exemplifies that sexuality or the topic of sex-related discussion is present on both sides, and can also be an example of sexual pursuit online (no matter the sex). I've heard/seen men in 3-5 minutes into a conversation bring up the topic of sex or obnoxiously sexually harrass women. I've seen women in Never Have I Ever discuss their veneral ideas out of the blue. Could be age, could be lack of being extroverted, could be many factors. All that I know is that it's natural in humans to be explicit and pursue desire, but it's also uncomfortable how frequent it is.

I partly agree. I just think that humans have always been this way, but online setting gives one some distance and a sense of anonymity, thus making it less frightening than it is in person. It's rather scary, actually, to approach a living person face to face about something, least of all asking for help, money, or sex. its annoying and i agree with alot of people here, when i go on i get hit on by boys and girls, and i talk to people about it and its weird, how they are shocked a dude dosent hit on girls O_O and shocked that i find it quite annoying when girls hit on me, because 1, im taken happily irl, 2, its annoying when just because you have an avatar, people instantly think its ok to roleplay sexually to random strangers they dont even know, also the community is super toxic, but i still enjoy chatting to decent people altho theres alot of heartless people on there that are the second they see a girl, stick around like a creep, and make them feel uncomfortable but because they enjoy vr chat they put up with it, insted of letting the room know there is a pervert on the loose, (new rule KICK THE PERVERTS even if their your friends PERVERTS should not be dealt with, in respect,

I don't find this problem normally. Now that I think about it, I am a furry who hang around the furry community... How the ♥♥♥♥ are we the less lewd ones?!..

But yeah, it's annoying... I am personally ok with sex jokes, but you need to make sure your in a group that is ok with that...
