This isn't even like other games like FPS where the only hackers are only pissing off players because they are cheating (with wall hacks, aimboting, ect.), because they have not skill. No, this is something much more dangerous and serious matter because people's private/personal information is at stakes here.
I'm not spreading "false" information. I have seen people talking about something like that in those forums.
Either way, it is possible for them to track you down through your IP and hack you.
I'm not spreading "false" information. I have seen people talking about something like that in these forums. It's something that was discussed IN THESE FORUMS. You are more active then me so you should know this, as I only have been lurking around and commenting from time to time. Do I really need to link you the discussion now???

Honestly, if anything gets on the PC platform, don't be surprised when people start to tinker with it and do weird stuff. If you don't want your IP to be tracked, stop whining and get yourself a VPN. Many servers and websites out there will still obtain your IP with or without your knowledge.
They're just trying to scare you, but yeah that type of stuff shouldn't be easily obtainable, might have to do with the VOIP or just how they handle connections in instances.
As for finding your IP easily, I don't see why people are so bothered by it. People can't do anything with your IP, and you can see everyone's IP in most games with a packet sniffer or a similar program.

Do you honestly expect people to buy VPNs only to play a game like VRChat?? Lol, no, forget about it, I will not play this game for ♥♥♥♥.
As far I know, only the hosts of the servers can see your IP because of the netcode.
Yes, I'm worried that hacker might track my IP address, potentially hack me and steal private information. That legitimately happened to me when I had my old PC (apparently, there was a file leak) even when I had a program to protect me. Why that happened to me considering that I'm nobody? I don't know but I do know that it might happen to anyone.
Right now, I have 2 protection programs and I'm still paranoid.
Doesn't matter, I don't want to risk it.
I wonder.... Have you, guys, ever heard of keyloggers?
Some people were dropped as a kid, this one's clearly thrown at the wall.
LOL have you heard of 'free VPN services'?? If you can afford two anti-virus programs and cannot even get a single VPN service for yourself, you clearly need to set your priorities straight.
Plus, VPN services can extend more to just VRChat. Who uses their VPN just solely for VRChat LOLOL
No one is going to waste time hacking into your computer unless you are some rich Nigerian prince who probably downloads everything he sees off the Internet. If that's the case, you probably deserved it.
I probably won't listen to some random guy on the Internet preaching about some hacker doxing people unless he provides solid proof for his case. Pictures or it didn't exist.
