Certain avatar's facial expressions go crazy whenever I move my arms/push a button a certain way (Quest 3 PCVR)

Howdy. Recently got some great looking avatars from a few worlds, and I wanna be able to emote and do gestures properly. However, it's increasingly hard to do so when so much as moving my arms makes my avatar cry like an anime girl on prom night. I'm using the default Oculus Touch controls with a Quest 3 headset and PCVR. Any help is appreciated, especially since I don't wanna have to lock gestures :(
