My mic is not working in vrchat!!!!

I have a hyperx cloud headset where it connects to the computer via usb and then has an adapter for a jack where the headset plugs in and the mic works in literally every application, except for vrchat. I have it enabled in sounds, I have my microphone enabled in the game. I also have the volume of my mic in game all the way to the max. ive tried closing vrchat and reopening it. Ive tried basically everything every other thread on here has suggested I do and still nothing. id really like to enjoy playing this game if at all possible. I am also using the desktop version if that helps any.

make sure your mic is set as default device in your sound manager on your pc.

I have over and over. ive uninstalled vrchat too and reinstalled it. I even just went out and bought a new headset.... still nothing.

I have disabled all other recording devices too

I even tried using voice meeter and its still not working please I just want to play the game and have fun

wait, I see you said that you have disabled all other recording devices... What I do when I want to play vrchat is unplug any mic/headphone I could hae on my pc and keep only my vr headset. If you have more than one mic or headphone, unplug everything except the one you want to use and then try it.
