Expression not working on the controller

hi, i have this problem for a while that is when i when to do expression in vrchat i need to use the keyboard the controller shortcut randomly stopped working and i was not able to find a solution ,thanks in advance for your help

only thing i can think of since i dont have vr is, hit R to bring up the radial menu, select options, look for "gestures" if it has a slash through the hand you some how turned them off, select it to turn them back on.
