Okay, every time I launch vrchat, I'm stuck in the floating lotus position thing and can't get out of it or move
also, the button on the bottom left of my headset (the Index) that opens the menu thing isn't working

That sounds like a hardware issue, both because the headset thinks you're not wearing it (AFK detection, which makes VRChat stick in the meditation pose) and that the button on the headset is broken.
Contact Steam Support through the store to get help for your issue.

Open your Action Menu (Radial Menu) in VRChat.
In there go to Options -> Config -> AFK Detection (Turn this off)

If you cannot access the menu in VR, you likely still can in Desktop mode and once it's off you can restart VRChat and hop back into VR mode.
