Issues with changing display name

Made the account by logging in through steam, tried logging in on VRChat home and no combination of anything will work to get me logged in. Also, the site seems to believe my email isn't connected to any accounts? Can anyone help out?

steam account cant log in to vrchat site, if you mean you changed the name of an actual vrchat account it changes the display name but NOT the log in name, so you still use the "old" log in name and password

In order to log into the VRChat site you must be using an actual VRChat account. It is also the only way to remove the random numbers and letters at the end of your display name if that's what you're trying to do. Once you have a VRChat account you can change your display name to something unique every 3 months.
