Try connecting the dongles to different USB ports.

Did you connect all 3 USB dongles that came with the trackers and then pair everything with SteamVR?

When I turn off the 3 vive trackers then turn on my controllers then my valve index controllers turn on with the green light and can actually be used and tracked.

You leave all the dongles in when using the trackers as thats how they connect to your PC. The valve index only has 2 receivers in the headset itself. These are used for the controllers. The trackers connect to the dongles. You need 1 dongle plugged in for every tracker you want to use. By unplugging the dongles, the trackers are trying to pair to the headset, which is kicking the controllers off when the trackers connect.

tl;dr you need to have all the dongles plugged in to use the trackers. It's 1 dongle per tracker.

I see I plugged them back in a few minutes ago however the valve index controllers don't turn green maybe I have to restart my pc so I'll try that and see how it goes.

So I restarted my stuff and two of the vive trackers work and the valve index controllers work however one of my vive trackers now has a blue light even tho I have plugged in all of the dongles Im gonna try to pair it again to see if that does anything

Now it only lets me have to vive trackers on at a time

Captainzeek Sep 28, 2021 @ 10:23pm
It only lets me pair two and then it says I have to turn a controller off to pair the next but when I do that then the one I turn off wont track when I turn it back on and has I blue light I really messed this up sorry for anyone trying to help :/

now I got all 3 trackers working again but now one valve index controller is stuck being blue it wont let me have both on

It says looks like I have all my controllers on then it says turn one off to pair this one

Captainzeek Sep 28, 2021 @ 10:30pm
At this point I think the only way to fix this is by unpairing everything I'll have to look that up tho
Captainzeek Sep 28, 2021 @ 10:49pm
Well I unpaired everything did everything to set it up corrtectly without unplugging the dongles and still cant have more then 4 vr devices on at once the 4 being the two index controllers and the 2 vive trackers idk how to get around this atp I think I'm gonna just give up for tonight hopefully more people see this and reply because I still need help.

The USB bus that everything is connected to may be running out of bandwidth.
Try connecting the dongles to different USB ports.
