What is 'VRChat Installation Helper'?

So I've done a Google search about this popup that keeps coming up when I close the game out, stating about "sharing links directly into it's many worlds". I'm not seeing any useful responses that would be curving my nervousness of allowing something to install, without knowing what said something is.

Is this thing safe to use? is it bloatware(aka hog a lot of my system resources)? Would I be able to fully uninstall it? And most importantly.. why would I even need it?
