Curious about VR requirements for this game
Getting awfully close to buying an Oculus, however the system requirements test suggests my PC is too weak. Thought that was weird, never had complications playing any of the games I own, It can multitask pretty much about anything, my settings range from high to ultra. I dunno what it was, it just bothered me that I got 300$ sitting here for no reason now, so I asked around some friends who have VR.

One says they run on a trashy laptop and they never have a problem, another has a weaker build than mind and says it runs perfectly fine. I'm starting to reconsider what that program said about my PC and continue saving money for that headset, however I want more clarity on this topic.

Is VRchat specifically a demanding game for VR? and even then what should I be prepared for when getting this headset?

I am not sure about specific requirements but VR has to run two displays at once at 90 frames per second. So VR itself is hard to run in general, even in something that doesn't seem that intensive like VRChat. VRChat isn't a finished game and its not optimized. People running the best hardware occasionally get some form of lag. I have read repeatedly that the game runs off of the CPU more than the GPU. I have a 1080 and have my computer directly connected into a CAT6 cable and still occasionally get framedrops and unplayable lag.

I would post your specs and someone with more technical knowledge could give you an idea if it will run very well.

i'm also interested in what it would look like on a weaker rig with VR, that's the only thing that is holding me back from buying VR

Currently not on my PC, when I'm back from work I'll be sure to give the rig's details here.

The store page for the game shows a list of spec requirements to run the game, however those will differ with the requirements of a headset and gear. You can google online the minimal and recommended requirements for both Vive and Oculus.

Im thinking of what the game would run at if i were to get a:
Ryzen 3 2200g
8gb ram
Windows 10 unlicensed (b/c too poor)
And id dedicate 2gb of the system ram to the graphics (because of apu limitations) any help is appreciated!

Just a quick heads up, my question is no longer relevant. I tested it out and the framerate is very noticable on some occasions, I would really just upgrade or buy a prebuild (because of graphics card prices right now). Stupid mistake on my part, but at least others will know not to take risks. :emofdr:

Yea, your computer isnt ready to do much else on vr chat, you should consider at least upgrading to a discreet graphics card or upgrading to a better apu (like me) id suggest the 2200g as its cheap enough that its around 260 for ram, motherboard, and apu, minus the power (which is about 30-60 bucks). Also make sure if you upgrade to something like an apu, get dual channel kit memory because its around 20% of difference in performance
<question>
Do you plan to mount the icon and the text chat which distinguish between the person who doesn't have VR and the person who doesn't have a microphone?
