Reset Forgotten Password for In-game Account not on VrChat site

So recently i got the valontines update and after that i wasnt able to resign-in to my VC account, i wrote down the username and password perfectly but it instantly said ERROR, do i have to make a new account or what should i do? also i had unique avatars saved and do want to loose them.

NM problem solved, i just merged my Steam account with my VrChat account and instantly logged in

Do you need to log into your steam vrchat account to merge it with another vrchat account?
