Leap Motion in desktop

Would it ever be possible to use Leap Motion controller to track hands in screen mode without using VR helmets and without connecting a smartphone like a helmet? I think this is not a technically-complex decision. I think that many are interested in this question.

Yooo, I'm studying this as well, I've seen a guy using leapmotion in vrchat and it was quite cool to see hand tracking. So he used a trackpad or a ps4 controller to actually move in vrchat, I'm assuming he can also access the ui in game with the gamepad. What I'd like to do was use the leap motion just with my desktop and not use an hmd/ head mounted display. I think you can actually access steamvr and just connect the controllers without having to use a headmounted display, although i think you have to change something like headmounted display "not required" or something like that. Anyways, I'm also looking for an answer here, if anyone knows. Please let us know.

But you said that you want to use a smartphone, which would need to run through steamvr anyway. For just using desktop and your monitor, no there is nothing currently. But in your post and your canny, you said you want to use a smartphone as a display, which is what those videos are using already
