Using Unity, Anim Settings Locked in Read Only?

I was using unity and everything seems to be going relatively fine, but I cannot change/add anything to the animation settings under the animations tab because it states they are "Read Only," Please help. (Next to console tab).

Drag the animation onto a duplicate of your avatar.

If that doesn't work, try duplicating the animation and editing that.
