VRChat
Can't see other players avatars
I was playing VRChat and had to leave. So I closed the game as alway over the little quick -menu (or however it's called). After starting the games again everything started/loaded normal. Except for the avatars of the other players. For some reason their avatars were (and still are) just floating grey heads with arms.

i have this exact same issue. all safety settings allow it to where no voices are off, avatars are on etc. (for all user ranks) and even when i open the menu and click on them, the "show avatar" button will be highlighted and still nothing, this has happened with 80% of the users- if their avatar was visible after i clicked it to show- on the oculus quest 2, cache is cleared & memory is fine soooo. i really am not sure what the issue could be
If you use a quest 2 headset, thee is a good chance that the reason why you can't see some ppl is just because they use non-compatible quest avatar; the Quest headset can ONLY see ppl with quest-compatible avatar.
there is a "Performance Option" on the top right of the Safety Panel. Click it and set "Minimun Displayed Performance Rank" to “Very Poor”, it will allow you to see all the avatars no matter how much GPU or CPU resources they cost.

Was told this is something that Quest users have to do now, but I have a HP Reverb G2 for the PC, and I too have just notice last night I am having to click on most everyone, one by one, to not be seeing just their fallback avatar.

As for PC memory, I go 64GB of ram. So I don't need to worry as much with seeing high poly avatars everywhere.

I am new to VRchat, and this rather sucks.

Check your safety setting; if you have avatar disable in the safety setting, then you won't see any avatars.

I can confirm what was said by another that setting "Minimun Displayed Performance Rank" to “Very Poor”, it will indeed allow you to see all the avatars. It works. And with my PC, not so much at a cost to performance. Quest users however, Likely should not do this. It could melt your headset.

Joking aside, it not be good for Quest Users.
I am very dissapointed. Theres no reason PCVR quest users shouldnt be able to see others? Its still pcvr. A huge oversight by vrc team

you mean by the makers of quest, vrc has no control over the hardware and users poor buying choices

I am not aware if Quest users who are pluged to a PC have to manually show every users one by one like the standalone version or not (I don't use a quest so I can't check myself). If it's the case, it might be just a matter of fact that they can't make that option disable for Quest plug on PC without disabling it for standalone version.
