I was able to change my account name, these people think they know, but they dont, just email the support team and they will change your name.

It would be too hard to add for what you'd get, and not worth the devs time. The workshop is just a client side file sharing service. On its own, it would not be able to upload or assigne models to your account. They would need to develop a secondary programs to go into your steam folders, then take those subscribed files and run them through a unity program linked to you account to upload them. With a similar amount of work, they could make their own more streamline way to save/share avatars. There's rumors that they are working on something (they said once that they are working on a way to gift avatars), but nothing official

You might have been unable to change your display name in VRC in the past, but now if you got to the VRC website under vrchat.com/home/profile , under "Edit Profile" under "Display Name" you can change your name once every 3 months.
