Importing with Unity, easy method?
So lets say someone makes they're avatar and it works. Instead of people only putting the model up for download and leaving others to resize and make it, can't they just put the project folder for download? So then its just download, import, done. If theres a reason people cant do this please tell me so I understand because I cant stop thinking about this xD

Because they don't know what modeling program or game engine you are using, nor do they know how to use them. Unity and Blender are not the only programs in the world, so not everyone uses them.

Thanks for answering lol

Erm, but you have to use Unity in order to upload so that doesn't quite make sense. And it doesn't matter about the Blender part either. You can resize the model in your program, then export it (as should be done anyway), and that way any program that can import the file type can use it. It's not that hard to optimize models for more than a single program. When I eventually make my Dante model (from Stella Glow), that's what I'll be doing if anyone else wants it.

But OP is asking why people don't just include project files for their models, and I answered it. If I made a model in Blender, what about the people that use something like Maya? Not everyone uses the same thing.

vrcmods actually has most of their models in unity package format. It's as easy as starting a new project, importing the SDK, importing Cubed's Shaders, and then importing the model's package file. Then just double click the imported scene and everything is set up already.

The reason they don't transfer the whole project, is because then you get the same ID on the avatar. Nobody wants that, it'll cause issues. Uploading the scene is the next best thing.

Some people do actually send the project files as well. I've received a couple like that. I don't really see why though if the model gets sent anyway.
