VRChat
Avatar Chest Puffs
Quick question about Gmod models coming to VRChat. I manage to get them in the game textured and everything no problem. But all of them puff out their chests to ridiculous proportions. So much so that it's not acceptable.

I reparented a couple bones, but it hardly fixed it. Someone told me to ad weight to one of the spine bones, but I have no idea how to do that. Any tips or directives to tutorials would be greatly appreciated~

I would be helpful if you provide a screenshot so we can exactly see your issue

This is what I mean; the chest sticks out at a weird angle
It's done that with all the Gmod models Ive imported
Everyone has that problem including me as thats apart of the non vr avatar standard so what I sadly do is I modify the neck and head abit so it doesn't look as awkward

Modify how if I may ask? Do you position them differently or something else?
Couldn't figure this out either, would like to know if you might have found the solution.
I heard in a video that if your body is pushed forward in vrchat it might be because of your spine bone being too close to the hip. Pushing it slightly higher in unity may fix it. But I never had the problem, just heard that in a video while seraching something else.
I had it at the highest possible spine area, which is spine 2, which is right below spine 4 (basically the chest) and had the problem, so I think I'm out of luck.

That's more useful for MMD models that can actually be effected by the mmd tools, however this is from Source Engine so it's completely different, however some may work for most but none of what they spoke of helped me.
That's too bad. :/ I just started working on my model a few days ago, so that's all I stumbled upon until now, sorry.
I did figure out a solution btw if you pull the spine bones back in Blender to where they are just outside the actual avatars body, the problem goes away. Though this can vary from model to model as I've tested it, but 90% of the time it works!
I know how to fix it !!! I had this problem too where the avatars chest puffs out. It was so annoying until I finally figured out how to fix it. If you open your model in blender and look at the bones especially the spine. Your model may have the following bones: hips, spine, spine1, spine2, neck, head. If they do than thats why the chest puffs out because there are too many spine bones. You need to delete spine2 but before you do so make sure you transfer the vertex group weights to spine 1. Once spine2 is deleted rename spine1 to "chest" and connect to the neck bone. So it should now be hips, spine, "chest", neck and head. When you go into unity, configure model in humanoid, assign "chest" to the chest. Thats how it fixed for me. I'm not sure if this makes sense but if you put a screenshot of your avatar bones in blender here, I'll be happy to help.
