VRChat SDK won't let me upload
I've tried logging in through 3 different accounts on the SDK but it only shows connected to release with user and dev status.

I apologize for Necroposting, but the fix is quite easy and I feel that this issue is one that hasn't been solved completely in a ridiculously slow manner.
How do you fix it?

Go to C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Temp\DefaultCompany\PROJECT NAME HERE

Create a blank notepad TXT and open it

File > Save as > customAvatar.unity3d (IMPORTANT: Capitalization matters)

IMPORTANT: Select "all files" in the drop down below name for filetype. if not IT WON't WORK.)

Save.

Reopen unity and build and publish.

Fixed.

Check

1) you have version 5.6.3p1 of Unity installed, not 2017xx.

2) You have the latest SDK from the VRChat website.

3) (Rather obvious but just in case) You are using VRChat accounts to sign into the SDK. Steam will not work.

4) You have a avatar descriptor attached to the model.

5) There are no other errors in the console or build window

I see... Im currently speaking with someone whom is experiencing the same issue. We are at the process of re-installation of Unity, but before you go deleting stuff, ensure that you have your VRChat.exe directory up to date in the settings menu.

Basically find where you have VRChat.exe in your C: drive and tell the SDK where to find it.

If this does not work we should have a solution momentarily

When I log in to my VRChat account in Unity 5.6.3p1 there is a drop down box for Dev, Beta and Release. Do I have to use "Dev" to upload my avatar? If so, how do I get the right to select it? It won't let me choose that option. "Manage Upload Content" box says my Developer Status is "none".

Developer status should say "none". I have uploaded countless avatars and my dev status has never changed nor affected my ability to upload content.

I literally love you. The exe was not at the place.

Checked the client path and is correct, but still not able to upload to VRChat.

Issues will always vary from person to person, computer to computer. Not everyone will have the same avatar, or same PC specs, same programs installed, etc. The best way for support to be provided is through your individual inquiry. Screenshots of the issue are a bonus in the troubleshooting process, and anything else that can be provided only hastens the problem solving. It is also possible that you simply cannot do it. I've helped countless people setup their avatars on my Discord server and even one of our admins cannot upload from Unity for whatever reason. I can also tell you that not every avatar will work. Being able to upload avatars is not something that is simply done at this point in time, so it will take dedication to take the time to learn the software that requires it.

Apologies if this offends anyone in anyway, but from helping as many people as I have I can only stress these things so much.

If you would like to join my Discord for assistance with the avatar creation process, feel free to send me a message requesting the link to my Discord "Avatar Lounge". We have a growing community of both learning and experienced avatar creators. I'm certain that there will be someone - if not I myself - that will gladly help you with this process.

Proxy works for me. Try to use it and see, will it help you, or not.
If it helps then problem lays within connection between your vrcsdk and vrchat servers. I read somewhere, still cannot find it, that sometimes vrcsdk with autochoosing option for upload servers choose wrong one and because of this it stuck on uploading.

The problem I'm having is Unity tells me I need to spend more time playing with the program before I can upload avatars. I'm using avatars that are read to go and need no tweaking. How do I get past this?

You need to spend more time ingame. Not in Unity.

There are two reasons you can't upload.
#1:
You need to spend a certain amount of time in VRCHAT now before you can upload.
They introduced this a while back.
#2:
If the polycount is too high in the SDK all buttons will be greyed out even if the polycount isn't too high on one of your models in the same project.
This means you need to delete the model with the polycount that is too high and or delete the several ones that may have a too high polycount to even be able to upload those who isn't too high in the same unity project.
Why? Because the official made VRCHAT SDK for unity is a broken mess.
