Did i got hacked or something?

I got vr chat for a friend. and while in a world. sitting. i heard a hiss. my monitor went black and the fans on my computer lit the ♥♥♥♥ up. i turned it off in a panick. and after a restart and update everything seems to be fine(also doing some of the restarts the window's loading graphic would ♥♥♥♥ up and turn weird). what the ♥♥♥♥ just happened? did someone hack me or something? as this happened to anyone here?

You just had someones avatar enabled which was unoptimized as all hell which probably had so many animations etc on it that your computer screamed.

Next time put limits on avatars.

I've had this a few times. Would say either monitor temps in vr frequently or bump up restrictions on avatars.

You were crashed.

Go to "%AppData%\..\LocalLow\VRChat\VRChat" in File Explorer. Open the output log for that session and scroll all the way to the bottom. Look for a large avatar download close to the very end, note the ID, then scroll up and look for a matching "User Authenticated" entry. Copy their User ID somewhere.

Next, go to "https://vrchat.com/home/user/" followed by the ID you copied. Mute and block that person.
