Unfortunately, yeah Linux have their limitation when it comes down to gaming.
Anti cheats are a problem with Linux, I don't think it'll get any better anytime soon with Linux.
Try verifying the local files. I have to do that almost every day I start it.
Also, make sure you have the Proton Easy Anti-Cheat Runtime installed and working properly on your machine. I use Proton Experimental with the Bleeding Edge branch, and it works relatively well for me.
Ensure that you have Secure Boot and fTPM turned off as well. Those will freeze the game from my experience, unless you have Windows. In that case, you're toast.
