Thank you for the info on that case. Looks like that wasn't a breach so much as someone upset they are using data to train their AI (a concern, but much less of one).
For the data storage, I'm glad for that change. For others: "VRChat securely processes this information into a hash, and saves the hash. We then destroy the source data, and tell Persona to destroy their version of the data, too. This ensures that while we can verify your identity when needed, your sensitive personal information is never saved in any systems for longer than necessary."
Previously they reported that Persona kept the data forever until we asked them to remove it, which then removed our verification status... because asking a third party company NOT to keep our data on hand meant we were no longer an adult (or that others could reuse it, but still). In that case, I might end up allowing this to happen on my account. I'll still need to consider it, but this is a big step forward. I don't really ever go into adult spaces but I don't like having doors closed to me. Pretty sure I learned that from my dogs.
