Age verification is a terrible idea

VRC should not have a platform for NSFW content, but it also should not be easily accessible to children, giving your ID to the game feels very intrusive on privacy and i believe that the game needs a complete reform.

Back then I would argue about this, but now? Even I'm not sure. It does help identify actual 18+ people but it doesn't stop them from acting less of their age nor becoming predator anyway so what the heck.

You completely missed the point, ofc every game is accessible to children, the problem is when the platform that attracts most young people start proposing ideas for adults-only social instances, Roblox is already moving forward with this idea in mind, and so is VRC as far as i know.

You have 4 thousand hours on VRC, you should already know the issue in question so i don't see the need to pretend otherwise, if you take a look at the most popular instances a couple or so are themed for adults only, yet the community seem to turn a blind eye to this fact, they don't even try to make it PC only since most quest users are underage in that platform. I know it isn't a literal dating sim, it's the public community that have given it this kind of reputation that i call it as such.

And no, the devs didn't make it a predatory platform, i didn't mean to insinuate that, every platform and its communities will have bad apples regardless including VRC, which is why i believe it needs a complete reform as a whole because it is very easy to use it.

Dont get me wrong i hate people on quest because they complain about not being able to see avatars, i wish pc only words were more common because its all a bunch of people that dont know how to save money and complain about why they dont have money, but thats a different issue, most quest users are children yes, and am not a fan of the quest platform. and for the dating sim part, its the groups you go to that make it feel like a dating sim if you go to hangout worlds people are going to socialize and make connections, virtual or not thats how it happens, thats how people date on other games like valorant and such, if you go to game worlds you are going to meet people having fun engaging and playing the game. if you go to events and such you will have people partying and dancing. i have been around this game since 2016 and i can say the game is very you chose where you go.
