VrChat, The worst Place to be

I am going to talk about my "very little" Vrchat experience and how its probably the worst possible place to ever meet people and possibly has the WORST Community in all of VR.


I have played vrchat only a few times, i first played it with a friend in january 2022 and i just got my vr but we didnt go to any public place, but from that point on i never really played it. I was never really a person who would play socializing games like rec room or vr chat on quest 2, I was more into action games like pavlov, TWD S&S, etc etc. Like i previously mentioned, i played vrchat 1 time but it was just me and my friend and we just sat in my home and then i never played it again.

**The Rise of Vrchat**
2 years later i start getting vr chat videos on my instagram, on my tik tok, and my youtube, and its people just trolling people in furry worlds, and bars and a bunch of other places and they would just mess with some staff or just troll people and they would take it so seriously and get so offended and butthurt and it was genuienly concerning.

**The Phantom Sense Psychos**
more and more videos of trolling vrchat players kept popping up, but this time they encountered the "Phantom sense Gladiators", im talking about mfs who take that stuff SERIOUSLY and will kick you from the instance if you do it again. So im gonna yap for a second, Phantom sense typically comes from amputation as if you are missing an arm and you try to move it and it "feels" like you are but you actually aren't. However, i will give them the benefit of the doubt, You can have Phantom sense in vr but you CANNOT have it in vr 24/7 I dont care what anyone says. For example, If you are playing a horror game and a spider crawls on your arm and YOU SEE IT you can "feel" like its crawling on your actual arm, but its not. In instances like that Phantom sense is typically an "In the moment" type of thing, not a constant thing. I could be very wrong on that and you could probably have it 24/7 but im pretty sure that takes MONTHS if not YEARS of training to do and its actually very unhealthy to do and could cause a lot of mental problems in the future. From the videos i have seen about phantom sense People, You guys take it way to seriously and genuienly need to find a real job and learn that it is NEVER that serious. Please seek help For the better of yourself and the people around you

**Mirror Dwellers**
Mirror Dwellers are typically a group of people who sit in front of a mirror blasting "garbage ass music" and stay on mute and sometimes even fall asleep in front of the mirror. From 1 experience i had, I encountered mirror dwellers and was just trying to spark a conversation and they werent responding so i tried to spike a conversation 1 last time and i got blocked. Thats the truth, i wasnt being mean, i wasnt being annoying, I was just being friendly. What doesnt make sense to me is, Why not go to a private instance and do that? Why go to a PUBLIC INSTANCE and then get upset when someone is just trying to talk to you? These people will never fail to suprise me. I will give credit where is due though, Some people will actually be very chatty and talk to those around them which is good.

**Vrchat COMMUNITIES**
Vrchat communities are just the peak of the Vrchat community itself, My friend (who plays vrchat quite a bit) encountered this community and joined their world where it was for stoners, when my friend joined the world he quickly found out that they streamed NSFW Videos and pictures To MINORS and they knew they were minors but they didnt care, When he confronted them about it they refused to talk about it and basically just lied to them saying that that didnt happen even though the Minor themselves said thats what happened. Keep in mind that Community was strictly 18+ but i guess they didnt give a damn that day. To this day my friend is still trying to get that community banned along with the players, But enough about that community. I got some others to talk about. Furry communities are definitely top 5. A majority of furry communities arent bad but some people just take it way too seriously. Me and my friend joined a furry world dressed as mordecai and rigby, we were going around offering hugs to fellow furries and then we got kicked... for no reason... Furries take it way to serious, like not everyone is trying to troll you, In that case we were just trying to play around and have fun.

**Vrchat DATING**
Words cant even begin to describe how i feel about this, I have seen people who are 32 and 16 date on vrchat because they just "understood them". These people wont even see their faces and just start dating because their "avatar" is some ripped 6,5 Neon white Emo man. I have seen women have mental breakdowns because they got broken up with a guy with an avatar like that and its so corny too. If you even talk to another mans "girl" the guy will get so defensive and threaten to leak your ip like you give a damn -_-. So that brings me to this story about my friend. My friend, lets call him max. In the middle of 2024 max started not playing with our friend group a little less and tbh i didnt blame him, it was the same game rotation so i kinda understood but it got so bad to the point where to where we would not HEAR from him for a whole day and if we did it was for like an hour and then he left. There would be instances where, me, max, and our 2 other buddies would sit in vc because we just got off the game and we planned on getting on another one, five minutes later we ask if we are all ready, no response from max, pinged him on discord, No response from max. It was a continuous cycle and it eventually got so annoying to the point where we wouldnt even bother asking him to get on the game.

Now a little backstory, Me and max's 2 other friends, i wasnt really apart of their trio friend group because they all had consoles and pc's they could play games on together meanwhile i didnt and i just got a pc in april of 2024 and thats when we Became "The official friend group" and we would play games with each other everyday maybe sometimes miss a day but it was okay.

Back to the story. like i said, in the middle of 2024 max started playing vrchat way too much to the point to where he literally told us in a vc "Im gonna have to leave at 5 because i have a meeting in vrchat" (it was for a military rp server). Now, ill cut max some slack. He did 50/50 between RP and Just chatting with his friends and after a couple months of not playing vrchat with him, i said "♥♥♥♥ it, why not" and i joined and i quickly found out that he is apart of a russian military rp server and i personally thought it was weird but hey, as long as he was happy. This is where things get really weird and blow out of proportion. In May, i found out max got a vrchat gf that he knew for no longer than 2 months. They ending up dating for 3 weeks i think? if not 3 weeks then they dated for a month. In the near end of summer he got ANOTHER Vr chat girlfriend and at the time, My friend was 16 years old and the girl he dated was 21. This is where i decided to not be his friend because i do not support that and find it disgusting. How they met? He comforted her because she just got out of a relationship and them WHAM they just started dating (she was lesbian). They eventually broke up and then we became friends again. Fast forward to today, He is not on vrchat very much and infact we have been playing a lot of games together so thats good. This Shows that people who play vrchat will just date anyone as long as they have a sexy avatar and a somewhat good voice.

**The Community Itself**
The Vrchat Community is in literal hell and it shows, You have Racist, Sexists, Homophobes, Pedophiles, and People who take the game way too seriously. I have wanted to try to get into vr chat and make new friends but as someone like myself who doesnt smoke, doesnt do any kind of drug, or vape or really just anything under that category and because of that it makes it harder to relate to other people and if you arent like them they wont include you, And its even worse where there are a whole bunch of racist or sexist or Homophobic people and they think its really funny when in reality, its not. I Swear 98% of these players are all just racist, Weirdos, Phantom sense Psychos, And a Representation of that weird kid in Your high school math class. According to other multiple people, 2018 - 2019 was the peak of Vrchat back when it wasnt a bunch of weirdos and it was just people trying to have fun and make friends.


So, What are my thoughts about Vrchat? It can be EXTREMELY HARD to find "Decent" people but imo the best way to have "fun" in this game is bring a couple of friends and honestly just mess around in whatever world you can find. I Dont mean to send a hateful comments to anyone who plays Vrchat but if you represent the type of people i just mentioned above, I hope you seek medical help and honestly become a better person in the future.

a lot of these posts and videos can't be taken seriously as a large majority of them claim people who aren't breaking any rules are harming the game, simply because they do things the poster doesn't like (I.e sitting in front of a mirror, being a furry, etc)

a lot of people have this image in their head for how the game should be based on their own personal bias, and will say the game is going downhill because it doesn't match their ideal vision.
when it comes to actual people breaking laws, going against ToS, these guys do nothing to report it. instead, they only generalize an entire community to be the same. this doesn't actually help anyone or solve anything and it's no wonder people don't take them seriously.

especially if the content you consume is only negative. you never hear about them watching positive videos about the game, only the negative ones.

you could report. move on. and provide proof. and actually report to authorites. something that is actually helpful.

there's "weird" people all the time. and here you are complaining about phantom sense and saying butthurt... unironcally. and getting kicked for being a turd.

When said user ran up and started harassing us (which he summarily cut out) and then acts like a victim when he was kicked.

Well in this case it actually is going down because of the cesspool it has been allowed to come, I do agree with the first part. Also its a bit of a stretch to always assume they dont report it, tons report things but it does not mean anything is being done about it.

well yeah, the bad things are bad. but if you only expose yourself to that bad, your perspective will be warped. people don't open themselves up to have good experiences and therefore it only looks like the game is in a bad state.
