Can I AFK the hour requirement for New User?

Looking to start with VRC, I currently got a custom model being made but I just learned I need the rank of new user to actually use the model I paid for, meaning 10 friends (got that one almost) and 10 hours playtime, which is my problem, I don’t want to play this without using my own model, however I cannot use my model without playtime

So can I AFK the 10 hours I need?

Besides, there are no set-in-stone instructions on ranking metrics. Observations from a month may not hold true the next, and everyone have their own gut feelings about their own leveling. The ranking system seems to reward things that benefit the community as a whole, and doing nothing isn't one of them.

Getting to New User is quite easy, so do some world hopping, sit down to chitchat or just listen to others for a little while and stomach through a few rounds of some popular games, even on desktop if you can't bring yourself to do it in VR yet.

If, for some reason, you can't bear the thought of playing VRChat without your own avatar, ask for a trusty friend to upload it on your behalf and share it with you until you can upload your own private copy.

Yes, you can. Explore and bookmark at least two different worlds, make at least two friends (even if those friends are alts of your own), and then AFK for X hours in a non-public world. That'll get you to New User.

favourite 5 random avatars, favourite 5 random worlds, go into public worlds 5 times, sit afk in your own private world for 10 hours
sit afk in public world for 10 hours

have your mic open the entire afk time in private

use your mic randomly in public lobbies

change your avatar 10+ times

use as many in game features as possible and custom - in game settings / ui + anything you can or interact with anything you can change from default

this will get you new user in ~under 24 hours and in most cases - you can also add your self from alt accounts be the one getting the friend invite not sending them or it doesn't count

then when new user post 5 of your own avatars while joining group or public lobbies and even upload a world to boost faster +

you'll randomly hit user 48~68 ish hours at good pace

keep joining worlds and making friends by having them add you the higher rank they are the better 78~128 hours PLUS throw on hop into VR you will instantly get known user

BUY vrchat plus with all of this and trusted user under 200 hours your welcome

source i have 7 known user accounts and 3 trusted user accounts

you can get far better times the more friends you make and having higher trusted users add you. this is just my average time not trying to speed run trusted user
the more people who add you and interact with you the faster your times will be

THINGS TO AVOID GETTING YOUR AVATAR MANUALLY HIDDEN/TURNED OFF

PEOPLE VOTE KICKING YOU OR YOU BEING KICKED BY MODS/VOTE KICKS

PEOPLE MUTING YOU

PEOPLE BLOCKING YOU

BEING BANNED FROM GROUPS

these will reset the progress in most cases and completely mess up times.
