i mashed keys and pushing \ or ctrl + \ reset my avatar to some robot, can you try doing that?
As @RaTcHeT302 says, holding ctrl and \ together should set your avatar back to the default robot.
https://help.vrchat.com/hc/en-us/articles/360060847634-Unable-to-switch-out-of-an-avatar
Also, ignore anything @Lucky says, it is not relevant to anything here.
IF you have a VRChat account then you can go to the regular URL website for VRChat and log in there. Then you will go to avatars and change it there.
You can try safemode, if it doesn't work do the following:
IF you have a platform account for steam then go onto another steam account and go on vrchat, you will be on a new account. Change the settings so that no avatar appears (basically you will be hiding the avatars) and then go back to the old steam account and log in and now the avatar will be hidden so change into a new one.
For Mobile Platform - Make a new actual VRChat account on the VRChat website and do the same as above logging into the VRChat account you just made and changing the settings.
For Headset Platform- I don't have a quest or a headset but I would imaging it would be similar to the above.
OTHER OPTIONS:
Report the avatar to VRChat if it is somehow breaking the TOS. IT it is removed you will be a robot and not have the issue any more.
