Is there a way to find "normal" people?

Everywhere I go I find furries and edgy teenagers, and that's fine, but is there a way to specifically find more "grounded" people? I mean no offense, it's just not my kind of thing!

Probably on crossplatform maps, PCVR tends to weed out the edgy teens and kids, furries are still pretty prevalent though

I think your idea of normalcy is finding anime people on vrchat.
So you'd best look for anime worlds.

go to the japanese language exchange or the pug, avoid avatar worlds of any kind and avoid the black cat, avoid the Cuddle Me world is it's like the black cat, furry worlds are good if you can get over what people say

Go to an age restricted bar with an actual bouncer. You'll only find adults inside. Furries are gonna be everywhere so no luck there.

I come across those type of people a lot too. I like to talk about my cooking and holidays, I don't usually issue personal insults out like a lot of people on here.

Nope. the majority of this player base plays this game like its their 2nd life. Really sad. These people are so addicted to VR they have to have 8 FBT vive trackers along with a valve index just to sit in front of a mirror or just ERP. not do anything beneficial for their physical and mental health they cant be bothered

Actually, most of the people in VRChat who are “normal” and generally helpful are usually the people who have a furry avatar.
If you want to find friends in VRChat who are "normal", then play games in the game worlds e.g. "Super VR Ball" or in the case of PCVR one of the various club worlds that are not virtual strip clubs, etc.
But the easiest way is really just to play any games
