So, im selective mute , what could i do? any suggestions
It's kinda hard since i have no vr set to use and express myself with hands and that stuff i usually only use text but i do not know how to interact or even how to make friends since when i play VRchat it's just me and some 5-6 friends on private worlds, but i haven been thinking but i want to meet people and make friends, any suggestions?

i only use text or tts while on discord and that stuff, but i can get talktative when on confidence and comfy around some people.

cope, selective speak, idk
ooor you can use the included text chat bubbles thing to chat. not sure how it works, since i never use it at all, seeing how i am not selectively mute (which is okay to be).

And to you, swift, get a life. Noone needs your "less braincells than a gecko" 'advice'. Grow up, will ya.

9/10 i get ignored with text chat, even though status says "no mic, read.".
If you are fast and steady with hands you can try writting with qpens.

If you don't have VR:
Use the text box
Use emotes
Use the expressions on your avatar (https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/keyboard-and-mouse)
If you just don't want people to hear your voice you can use something like Speech To Text. It's quite simple to set up.

There is only so much you can do on desktop.

Edit:
Some avatars also have gogo locomotion animations. Like pointing, dying, dancing and so forth. You can also use that as a way to express yourself.

... Talk.

If you are getting selective on your behavior, people will do the same, everything is in your hand, consequences included.

Or they can choose not to talk, if they don'T feel comfortable with it. Selective muteism is not always a thing of conscious choice, but sometimes might be due to trauma, or other "out of control" things.

Soundpad could also be used for sime phrases like yes or no that you have binded. To a voice you like or your own if that floats your boat.

Yeah i noticed the phenomena of mutes, and frankly I tend to not bother with them. I'd much rather invest my time into others that will talk. So the advice of use your mic, is solid. If you don't want that, Then accept that many will just ignore you.

and as a person who lost the ability to speak because stroke, i have a feeling im just fine not having those kinds of people in my social circles as they prove an inability to adapt to allow the disabled in to there groups. says more about them then they realize :steammocking:
TTS can be of use to someone who is mute. Some of the responses in this thread have me SMH

In real life, people can adapt for you. In a silly vr game, that's a lot to expect from someone random.

I don't think you understand my point.

its all about your own choices, you cant ask something you cant give, that is not fair.

I play with mute and some of them ends up using mic at some point when trust is built.

As a mute you really want to communicate and be/follow a lot the person you're interested into, because without voice, you're very limited for communication, unless you have vr and you get on front of their faces.

I do kinda want to use TTS but i do not know how to set up or even use it as a "voice" tbh, or even setup a voice filter as a tts too that would be great.
