That should be the easiest way to check.
a linked account (being when you choose to login via steam or a meta account on quest) is obviously going to be associated with the respected account. however you cannot use a linked account from steam on a meta quest or a linked account associated with a meta quest with steam. (only if you did not merge your linked account to a vrchat account)
there are also downsides to using linked accounts, your rank is limited to user and it is very hard to gain rank after that point. and lets say you decide to play vrchat on a quest or any platform that does not use steam, then you would not be able to login to your account.
I recommend that you go to the vrchat site and make a vrchat account and merge your linked account with the vrchat account. in the settings menu you will see an option to generate a merge token, generate one and then go to the account you just made on the website and go to the section to enter a merge token and paste the token in.
once this is done your vrchat account and linked account will be merged together and all data on your linked account will be accessible on the vrchat account. this also means that the restrictions mentioned previously do not affect you anymore since you now have a vrchat account. (you also can click steam when logging in and you will be logged into the vrchat account since it is merged)
