can't rank up

ive been stuck at new user for a along time and idk why i have over 90 hours in the game and some people say you pass new user at around the 50 hour mark

grinding hours isnt the way.... its a "social game" so be social, go make friends and roam publics.... and dont blocked.

You should be able to get to at least User by wearing your own uploaded avatar for a day or so, or just hanging out in friend/group lobbies. If you're roaming publics, do NOT go anywhere near the mirrors - not all mirror dwellers are a problem but there's a few who just block everyone on sight, which can actually drain your trust rank.

yea, usually the best thing to do is just to be social as said before, game seems to detect if your actively moving/talking with people (so AFKing in a public lobby does nothing)

Are you using your default Steam account?
I think there are limits to your rank and how fast it can rank up. Pretty much all long time players create a VRchat account which will start out as visitor but you'll rank up in a day or so to new user and then a few days (to a week) to user. Ranking up in general requires you to hang out in public worlds and also make friends. I was told making friends with trusted users will rank you up faster.

Afking in a public lobby does work.
It takes you 700 hours to rank up from User to known if you just AFK in a corner.

However there's no better way to rank up than buying VRC + :)
