Video player breaking game.

So i am having a issue with vrchat where cetrain worlds will not let me join or play at all, it will immedietly send the game into not responding mode, as well as, sometimes it won't even start the game up and it will constantly just stay on "not responmding" for a long time. and no matter what it doesn't send me back to my home world whenever i do get into a world, and it constantly loops me in that one world causing me to need to restart my game.

Update/edit: it is now not even loading up my home world, it just constantly goes to not responding.
edit 2: I've uninstalled and deleted EAC and vrchat.exe twice and clean installed both twice. that does not help the issue.

Edit 3: i forgot to remove that EAC was not the issue. I CAN load into worlds with video players. but the second a video play or one auto plays, it crashes my game.

Yep, same issue here. I tried all kinds of things and nothing worked. It seems to just affect specific people so I can't really think of a reason why that would happen.

Also experiencing the exact same issue. Issue only occurs when a video player is activated to start video playback. Debug log shows the following which leads me to believe the issue is definitely video related:

I've attempted the following:

• Clearing the cache folder - this does not fix the issue
  
• Verified game file integrity - this does not fix the issue
  
• Reinstall of VRChat - this does not fix the issue
  
• Deleting yt-dlp.exe to trigger a re-download - this does not fix the issue
  
• Replacing yt-dlp.exe with the latest version from github - this does not fix the issue

Specs are:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
GPU: RTX 3080, Driver Version 531.29
RAM: 64GB

At this point I'm fairly stumped.

Can confirm that the issue is with the video player, loading into a world with an active video player locks the game up, while its not responding, you cant use the task manager, cant use ctrl+alt+del, cant even load most things on steam (took me until vrchat closed to open up the discussions). when trying to delete the appdata vrchat folder, it will not allow you to delete the yt-dlp.exe file which of course is the video player. This issue persists in both VR and Desktop.

Updating this - If you are using Bitdefender, disabling the Advanced Threat Defence setting should resolve this issue as a workaround for now.

This worked for me, thank you Gamer.
Its weird, because usually if theres a conflict, Bitdefender would show the "threat" window detailing the event. Its showing nothing so far.

THANK YOU! This worked for me as well. However I will say, do not completely disable Advanced Threat Defence as that is your computers line of defense against bad stuff hurting your PC. It is enough to add the launcher.exe and the C:/Users/User/AppData/LocalLow/VRChat/VRChat\Tools/yt-dlp.exe to the Advanced Threat Defence exceptions from manage exceptions.

No worries - normally I'd agree with this but for me personally adding it as an exception was not enough and had to disable completely for some reason, so thought others would be the same!

this worked for me when I turned off advanced threat defense so I just added an exception!
so for anyone using Bitdefender i highly recommend trying this
EDIT#1: adding the file to exception did not work so anytime you want to watch a movie you have to turn off the threat defense
EDIT#2: Looks like its enough to switch Exploit detection off its located under the Advanced Threat Defense

yep same damn issue and that workaround won't work since i don't have bitdefender.
