My friend cant see my avatar

He's using Quest and it's an avatar quest users are supposed to be able to see

they should check their safety setting to make sure it's allow avatar of worse performance than excelent and good rating.

He's done both and it still didn't work

Well if he actually did click show avatar, its not a quest compatible avatar. So he either lied or you dont have a quest avatar

Probably safety settings, Tell em he should lower his safety to atleast friends avi's shown.
