Where is everybody

How is it that there's always like 500 people on the Pug world but when I join it's like 12 or so... Is there no place where hundreds of players hang out? I dont really get it, me and my friend roam the worlds alone most of the time lol

Worlds are separated into instances. I believe the cap of an instance of the pug is 20 or 25 players. The max a world can have in one instance is 40. When you open the world in the menu, you can browse a list of open public instances at the bottom. The total player count also counts those in private instances of the world.

And also you cant see instances, that are already full. (Maybe it is updated now and you can see it)

You cannot join a private instance without permission by having some kind of connection to the user who made the instance, or users in the instance to request an invite. There are different types of private instances with different types of privacy settings for letting people in. Public instances are open to all who click on the world from the menu.
