The Pimax 8KX is now completely unusable in VRC
There is almost no chance you will have any success in getting the Pimax to work without mods.

Really? What happened? I haven't tried it because I'm not installing EAC.

I haven't tried it myself either. But because VRC has absolutely no support for Pimax software, you need several mods to get it to run at a normal level. And a lot of optimization mods are necessary, even when rocking a 3090 ti.

You are using an extreme professional headset. lmfao. Pimax is extremely specific vs the other headset. an 8K headset? are you freaking kidding? Programs have a hard enough time handling 4K. I have a 4K headset, and it's ♥♥♥♥ because VR headset manufacturers and , CPU manufacturers, motherboard manufacturers, driver engineers can't properly design their crap so my headset will function properly. AND NO ONE IS LISTENING TO FIX THE CRAP. So I'm screwed with using a faulty headset. And I wasted my money. I can't get ANYONE to help fix it, no one cares, the manufactures don't care. And I'm crying.

8K headset lol. That's sort of your own fault. No one is going to work on that unless they really need to, because very very very little people can actually afford, or even RUN 2 displays at 8K. It's not economic to deal with an 8K headset. That's going to be very very low on any software engineer's pipeline when they are dealing with a realistically accessible program.

8K headset is FAR beyond "enthusiast level" Most people couldn't afford an 8K system in their lifetime. No general service is going to bother catering to something less than 20 people out of tens of thousands can afford.

It's 8k total. 4k per screen, and it used to run great. The problem is the software the headset uses to communicate with SteamVR and VRC. The frame mods just help with random drops.

I highly recommend you actually research the 8KX. It's a really nice headset.

I never said it was a bad headset. I have no doubt that it's a great headset.

Oh it's 4K per screen. Than it's a 4K headset, not 8K

I mean, sure, if you add the two displays together. But that doesn't make it 8K. That's like claiming two 1920x1080 screens = 2K

It is misleading. But other headsets like the Reverb G2 do the same thing.

Reverb G2 is 2160 x 2160 which is a 4K resolution. Don't ask my how or why. I didn't label it as a 4K resolution. But it seems like a 2K resolution XD.

Pimax is 3840 x 2160, which is also a 4K resolution

Agree. That's everyone's fault. Except VRC devs and EAC, of cause. Because those are industry leading devs using best software known to man.

This is where it gets tricky, because of "headset resolutions"... #x2160 is 4k. 4k monitors are in the most common aspect ratio of 16:9. Which gives us a resolution of 3840x2160. The first number is the width of the resolution.

The Reverb G2 uses a 2160x2160 resolution which is a 4:3 aspect ratio... Still "technically" 4k, but it's also technically not due to the lower pixel count of the lower aspect ratio.

The 8KX is using a 16:9 aspect ratio, which it takes advantage of because of it's wide as hell FOV. So by using the same logic in advertising as HP, it's technically 8k.

If you ask me though, they're a 2k and 4k headset.
