I never used a modded client so i never had any issues. Its all the modded people who are leaving, all the quest and vanilla users are staying
CVR and NVR are no where neer ready for so many people.
It had quite a learning curve if you wanna go there for more than just chatting, but seems incredibly powerful.
ChilloutVR is pretty much VRChat, but with most of the QoL mods people were using already implemented, and with MUCH better performance. Currently lacks scripting though so worlds are a bit limited in what they can do. It also isn't perfect yet, nor as good as VRChat on some regards.
They're in the process of upgrading their infrastructure to accommodate to all the newcomers they're getting, so their servers are having some issues at the moment.
Both are good and worth it.
The problem is that the devs had talk with mod authors in the past, and solutions were suggested by mod authors. But the devs suddenly did a U-Turn, banned them, announced EAC.
VRchat is dying after this update. They have successfully alienated a large portion of their player base, 25% of the reviews are now negative. Twenty. five. percent.
It's almost as if we did that already.
As much as I hate EAC and the way devs are treating us...
The reality is that most of the people who says they're leaving will eventually come back if they have any friends or attachments to VRChat. Its community won't die like that. VRChat is still the leader in term of sheer content, and still the most known VR Social platform.
With some luck though, some people will actually stay away from VRC, and it'll give a second breath to VRChat's concurrency, ultimately making all of VR Social platforms better.
I agree with this sentiment. I appreciate the well thought out response in light of the recent issues. I do hope the devs fix what is broken in time (since it won't be immediate). Hopefully this will help them see the impact even more than in past events.
popular options are neos (which has a ton of features, but a bit confusing at first because you can basically do anything) and chilloutvr (a lot like VRChat with quality of life mods, but doesn’t have as much content yet)
